Tales from the Podium turns to Tales in Print
One of FIREPAW's cofounders developed and presented paper presentations on the topics of 'The Social Construction of Economic Value' and 'Animal Ethics and World Trade' last year. Both presentations have recently been accepted as book chapters. The first presentation is a continuation of prior work on firm decision-making processes regarding animal welfare topics, including previous FIREPAW work on breed discrimination, animals in rental housing, meat production, and laboratory animal use. The second involves the impact of international trade rules on animal welfare. Both conferences had compilations made of selected articles. FIREPAW's article was included in both cases.
Animalistic Impressions
FIREPAW’s cofounder and President was fortunate to once again have artwork chosen for an international art exhibit. The artwork entitled, "The Least We Can Do" (minimalist ink drawing) was chosen for the Twentieth International Exhibition on Animals in Art by Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
